Smoky Reposado Mule

Award Winning 'Jose León' Tequila's Agave Plants are grown in the highlands of Tequila, Jal. Mexico, they are meticulously cared-for seven years and then and harvested by hand. The result, prime ripe ready piñas, these agave piñas are then slow roasted in stone ovens or in high pressure cookers called hornos. Note that Agave is not a cactus but a succulent plant closely related to the yucca. This specific Agave Plant is the Agave Tequilana Weber Azul, which is legally the only Agave plant that can be used to create Tequila. Once the roasted agave is ready, it is removed from the Hornos and then carefully crushed to release the Agave sugars where they are then transferred to vats to be fermented for a few weeks and then double distilled and filtered to remove any impurities.
Blanco Tequila is then inspected, lab tested and then bottled. Ultra-Premium Jose León's Tequila undergoes an extra cold filtering process before it is bottled, giving it a smooth and even forward roasted agave flavor with hints of spices and a caramel finish.
Award Winning Blanco Tequila is then carefully transferred to American Oak barrels, where they are sealed by CRT (Official Government inspectors) and then aged for between eight and eleven months for our Ultra-Premium Reposado, until its reached its prime perfected flavor.
Our Ultra-Premium Añejo Tequila is continuously aged for between ten and eighteen months, providing a crisp smooth experience.
