OUR BLUE WEBER AGAVE

Award Winning Ultra-Premium Jose León Tequila's Agave Plants are grown in the Los Valles (Low Lands) of Tequila, Jal. Mexico, they are meticulously cared-for seven years and then and harvested by hand. The result, prime ripe ready piñas which are then slow roasted in stone ovens cookers called hornos for seventy two hours or sixteen hours in autoclaves with steam. The specific Agave Plant is the Agave Tequilana Weber Azul, which is legally the only Agave plant that can be used to create Tequila.

Once the roasted agave is ready, it is removed from the Hornos/Autoclaves and then the cooked agave is carefully shredded using traditional methods like a tahona (a volcanic stone wheel) or modern mechanical shredders/mills to separate the sugary juice from the fibers release the Agave sugars where they are then transferred to large vats be fermented for upto two weeks and then double distilled in an alembic pot stills for 60-70 hrs, and then is filtered to remove any impurities.

Jose León's Blanco Tequila is then inspected, lab tested and then bottled right here in Tequila, Jal Mexico. Ultra-Premium Jose León's Tequila undergoes an extra cold filtering process before it is bottled, giving it a true even forward agave flavor with hints of spices, white pepper and a smooth roasted agave caramel finish.

Our Blanco Tequila is then carefully transferred to American Oak barrels, where they are sealed by CRT (Official Government inspectors) and then aged for between Nine and Eleven months for our Ultra-Premium Reposado, it remains 'rested' until its reached its prime perfected flavor. and then is carefully inspected, lab tested and then bottled.

Our Ultra-Premium extra smooth Añejo Tequila is continuously aged for between fourteen and eighteen months providing a crisp smooth experience.
